Signs You Need AC Repair
A broken AC unit in Fernley, NV is pretty obvious but catching signs early on can help you prevent more costly repairs or even AC replacement. Here’s what to look out for:
- Warm air coming from the vents even when set to cool
- Weak airflow as if the system is barely running
- Short cycling on and off without finishing a cycle
- Ice on the coil or the refrigerant lines
- Loud noises like banging or grinding
- Water pooling around the base of the unit
- Energy bill spikes
If you smell something burning or the breaker for the AC circuit keeps tripping then shut off the system and breaker then give us a call. Do not run the unit as it may be an electrical issue we can help with before it damages your unit.
Why Do I Have a Broken AC Unit in Fernley?
The Nevada sun puts your AC unit under immense pressure for several months out of the year and capacitors are one of the most common replacements as a result. After a few summers they get weak from heavy use and make the system pull harder and harder until it doesn’t start at all. We also get calls for contactors and refrigerant leaks, as well as broken fan motors and clogged condensate lines.
What makes a difference is where the equipment sits on your property. Rooftop units and ones in the attic sit in the heat all summer causing accelerated wear. That means a 10 year old system here is working like an older one elsewhere.
No matter what the case may be, our AC repair in Fernley, NV will diagnose the root of the problem so your home can be comfortable and cool once more.
Our Fernley AC Repair Process
Whenever you call us for help with a broken AC unit we always do a full diagnosis before any work starts. That’s because sometimes what looks like the problem is actually a symptom, and repairing a symptom doesn’t fully restore your cooling. Some places will do guesswork and leave you with a bill, only for you to have to call again later.
When we know what’s at the root of the problem we can give you an honest quote and make the repairs you need. If the system is old enough that repair doesn’t make sense we’ll give you the options for replacement and let you make the call. But if a repair will do, we won’t hide that from you either.
