Heat Pump Repair in Las Vegas, NV

Dependable Heat Pump Repair Across the Las Vegas Valley

Homes across Clark County lean hard on their heat pumps, and the arid, alkaline soil and famously hard water in this part of the desert do not make the job any easier on your equipment. Mineral buildup, caliche in the ground, and summer highs that regularly push past 100°F all wear systems down faster than most homeowners expect. That is where we come in. Legacy Cooling, Heating, Plumbing & Electrical has served Nevada since 1999, and you can reach our team any time at (725) 253-2522.

We are licensed and insured, available 24/7, and we back our work with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. And when your heat pump struggles, we move fast.

What Goes Wrong With Heat Pumps Out Here

A heat pump in the Las Vegas Valley works year-round, cooling through brutal summers and warming through mild winters where light freezes still show up now and then. That constant cycling takes a toll. The low humidity and fine desert dust blowing in from the basin clog coils and filters, while hard Colorado River water, drawn largely from Lake Mead, leaves mineral deposits that strain components over time.

Here is the problem: a failing heat pump rarely quits all at once. It limps along, running longer, costing more, and cooling less, until something gives on the hottest afternoon of the year. The good news is that our EPA-certified technicians know these systems and the conditions they fight against, from Summerlin on the west side out to Enterprise and Spring Valley.

Common symptoms we get called for include:

Weak or warm airflow when the system should be cooling
A unit that runs constantly but never reaches the set temperature
Strange noises, grinding, or rattling from the outdoor unit
Short cycling that turns the system on and off repeatedly
Ice forming on the coils or refrigerant lines
Spikes in energy bills with no change in usage

Fast Diagnosis, Honest Repairs

When you call us out, we track the actual cause instead of guessing. Refrigerant levels, electrical connections, compressor health, and airflow all get checked before we tell you what is wrong. And because we offer free estimates, you know the cost before any work begins.

The catch is that not every struggling heat pump is worth repairing. Sometimes an older, inefficient unit costs more to limp along than to replace. When that is the case, we tell you plainly and lay out your options, so you can decide what makes sense for your home and budget.

FAQs

What Las Vegas homeowners usually want to know first.

How do I know if my heat pump needs repair or replacement?

If your heat pump is relatively new and the issue is a single failed part, repair is almost always the better call. But if the unit is aging, needing frequent fixes, and driving up your energy bills, replacement often saves money over time. When we come out, we give you an honest assessment and the numbers so you can make the right choice for your situation.

Can a heat pump really handle both cooling and heating in the desert?

Yes. Heat pumps are well suited to the Las Vegas Valley because our winters are mild and hard freezes are uncommon. They move heat rather than generate it, which keeps homes cool through hundred-degree summers and comfortably warm on cool desert nights. When a system is sized and maintained correctly, it handles both jobs efficiently.

Why does hard water affect my heat pump?

The region’s water, drawn largely from the Colorado River through Lake Mead, carries a high mineral content. Over time those minerals build up and strain components, especially when combined with the dust and arid conditions of the valley. Regular maintenance helps slow that wear and catches small problems before they become expensive ones.

Do you offer emergency heat pump repair?

Yes. We are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. If your system fails on a scorching afternoon or quits overnight, reach our team and we will get someone out to you as quickly as possible.
